Dear Family and Friends,
On this November 3rd, a heavy weight settles on my heart. A date that holds the deepest grief, the day my precious Elijah-Alavi was taken from us. He was only three, with the kind of spirit that made every room brighter, a laughter that filled our lives with joy. He was my son, my light, and in one tragic moment, that light was stolen. At his daycare on November 3rd, 2017, he was given food he was allergic to a simple oversight, but one that cost us everything.
"The pain of losing him is indescribable. Every single day, we carry the weight of his absence. There is a hollow space in our lives, an ache that never truly eases. We grieve for the birthdays he won’t have, the laughter we’ll never hear again, the moments we’ll never get to share. It’s a grief that feels endless, a wound that time cannot heal. And as his family, we feel that loss with every breath."-Thomas Silvera
But Elijah’s story will not end in silence. His life, as brief as it was, has become a call, a purpose, a mission. In his memory, we are driven to bring change, to create a world where no child’s life is lost to something so preventable, where every caregiver, every teacher, and every parent understands the life-and-death reality of food allergies. "Elijah didn’t have to die; he should be here, growing, laughing, living. And for him, we fight. We fight to raise awareness, to demand stronger policies, to make sure that other children with food allergies and asthma are protected."-Dina Hawthorne
This mission is Elijah’s legacy, a way to keep his light shining in a world that so desperately needs it. He is the reason we advocate, the reason we push for change, the reason we speak up. I tell his story, over and over, not because it eases my grief, but because it keeps his memory alive and gives purpose to the pain we live with.
On November 3rd, We ask you, from the depths of our soul, to remember Elijah with us. Take a moment to hold close those you love, to feel the weight of his story, to share in our awareness of how serious food allergies truly are. Remember him, not just for the life he had, but for the lives we hope to save in his name. In his memory, let’s make this world a safer place for every child. A place where his light continues to shine, guiding us, inspiring us, and reminding us of the love that endures even the deepest sorrow.
If you feel moved to help us continue this mission, to push for the change we know is
